Repeat Prescriptions are Changing
From the 3rd December 2018 we will only accept prescription requests from you or your carer. Pharmacies will no longer be able to do this for you.
What do you need to do?
1. Order online through our website (after registration)
2. Visit the practice and order in person
3. Post your repeat prescription request to us.
4. Email us your request at email@example.com
Ordering your repeat prescriptions is easy. You can let us know which items you need by handing in the retained part of your last prescription marking the items you need – this is the easiest option for you and us!
If you do not have this slip of paper we can accept a written note delivered to the surgery either by hand or post.
We also offer the facility to order repeat prescriptions online via the link at the top of this page. Please note you will need to obtain login details before you can use this service and also be required to show photo ID.
Alternatively, you can send your request via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, date of birth and the first line of your address. Please note we still request 2 working days for emailed requests. Additionally, health concerns and queries will not be dealt with you must consult via triage.
Please note that we do not take requests over the phone unless you are over 75 years old, housebound or disabled.
Pharmacy Collection Service
To help you further we can arrange for the completed repeat prescription to be delivered direct to your nominated pharmacy so you can collect your medicine(s) quickly. We have arrangements for this service with the following pharmacies:
- Broadfield’s Chemist
- Bewbush’s Chemist
- Gossops Green's Chemist
- Tilgate's Chemist
One last note to be aware of is that if you request medication that is not prescribed to you on a regular basis the doctor may request to see you before issuing a prescriptions – we will contact you if this is the case.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see or have a telephone review with a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. ase ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
